cannot create mojang account

I am attempting to create a mojang account so that I can play realms with my son in beta - when I hit register on the kindle, nothing happens (after I type in email address and password to register). I tried to do the same on the computer (to create a mojang account) and the screen where I would type in that information closes immediately after it opens. Help!!!!
