Villagers spontaneously becoming zombie villagers and escaping

I had several villagers trapped in minecarts stored inside a well lit, sealed building. All villagers turned into zombie villagers, although no zombie was present. About half the zombie villagers escaped the minecarts and the sealed room and were found in a nearby lake.
