Connection problems

Hello,when im trying to host a game,and my friend attempts to join me,he always gets instantly disconnected.However,when i try to join his world i can do so without any issues.We have also tried to play cross platform,with him on PC (windows 10 eddition),while i played on xbox and the same connection issues happened,i was able to join his world but he wasnt able to join mine.
