Spawning Problem on game entry

Its happened twice so far since the last update, i log in, and it spawns me at the original spawn point when you enter the game for the first time, but really high up in the air, drops me, and i die, then i spawn back in a bed i created and set as my spawn point, its really annoying, i've lost items and levels.  there doesn't seem to be a reason for it, the 2nd time i was exploring and underwater dungeon, and i was in a dry area with mobs off when i left the game.
