Glitches with new 0.7.1 update

I was playing on survival when I realized my diamond axe (which was an Axe in my inventory) was a pick axe in my hand. Then I went into the crafting table and was on the block page and scrolled all the way down below the white wool. Right there was a block that look like a slab but was named tile.stoneSlab.name< The block took 3 wooden planks to make.
