The dirt that is adjacent to a block of grass does not turn into grass

I have been playing in this version, and I have observed that when digging the dirt so that the ground is flat, the remaining earth does not become pasture as it usually was in previous versions, and this affects itself in that mobs like sheep , cows, pigs and chickens are not generated correctly in the normal world, I would like to fix that immediately as it affects the functionality of the game.
