App force closes after new update

After new update (v. 1.8.1.2), the app will briefly show the splash screen like it is loading on my Lenovo tablet  (TB-8304F1). Then the app force closes and returns to my home sceen. After clearing cache and multiple device reboots, the problem still persisted.  I checked my account on another device (Galaxy Note 3 which does not have the latest update) and all my worlds were there with saved content from yesterday before the update.

I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the Minecraft app from the Play Store. The first time, I was able to login with my XBox Live account and only 2 of 7 worlds were there. I  changed the memory  storage from external to application but the saved content was still missing.  Finally, I logged out. After restarting device, I was going to log  back in again, however, the original problem/ issue with the force close happened again. Please advise.
