Minecraft appears letterboxed on a 18,5:1 screen

What I expected was, that the game would scale nicely to fill all the screen, but instead it appears letterboxed and is pretty annoying because I need to stretch my fingers to move.

 

Happens on Samsung Galaxy A7.
