I just loaded into my saved world, and died.

previously saved world, but in a different area than when I quit. I think it was spawn, and I spawned enough blocks above the ground to instantly die. I then respawned at my bed without anything. I then quit out entirely (closing the game as well) and respawned where I was after the bug occured still without my items.
