constantly getting disconnected from multiplayer games every 2 minutes

anytime i join a friends world from my Nintendo switch I am constantly disconnected. it happens when connecting to xbox worlds or another switch via online or local connection.
Even when I am playing a single player world I am disconnected randomly.
I have reinstalled Minecraft with no change in results.
please help.
