Furnace not working

It started after updating it, I made a new world when I got some ore to smelt, it doesn't let me put coal. I went to another world. I saw the chicken was done, so I tried to take it out, I couldn't! I put gold ore in, and it was stuck there, so I mined the furnace and it dropped only the furnace. I hope you can help me to resolve this bug.
