Update bug

Minecraft for the Xbox one is currently on v1.8.1 and my Minecraft is still on beta v1.9.0.5. I have not had the option to update to the most recent version because it says my game is completely up to date. I need the most recent version of the game to play with my friends, but I have no way of getting to it. I’ve tried everything from uninstalling to reinstall, hard resetting my Xbox, and even buying the $29.99 starter pack version of the game in an attempt to get it to update. Nothing has worked for me.
