a glitch that stops animation after I put my iPod to sleep, also teleport above overworld or void after I load my game

I have a few issues going on right now. First, when I put my iPod on sleep mode for a while and come back to it when I play my game, the animation just stops. I didn't notice at first but the fire stood still when this happens. What's more annoying though is that whenever I load my game, I sometimes find myself transported high over the Overworld before I plummet down and die, and all the loot I have on me vanishes when this happens. When I'm underground, I fall into the void instead. Can you find out what's wrong?
