Leaving End, spawning in air and falling to death

I have experienced this glitch multiple times now.  When leaving the end through the main portal, I spawn about 100 blocks above spawn and fall to my death.  I have a bed set as spawn in my base but this glitch still occurs.  I have experienced this three times so far even with different respawn points.
