run into invisible wall then save/quit when i log back in i am spawned at my base 200 squares up

when exploring i run into "glitches" that either don't allow me to rise while in water (invisible wall above me) or if on land then i get an invisible wall. i then put down a bed, set spawn point and log out and in. sometimes everything is fine other times it returns me to my base a few hundred squares up where i fall to my death. When dieing in this manor i lose all my torches & arrows not to mention levels. I have died in this manor about a dozen times now. Any way to get the hundreds of levels i have lost back for enchanting?
