Some Aquatic Update Water Physics seem to be missing or broken

Ok so I'm enjoying the newest beta but recently I realized something I can no longer place: Saplings, Redstone dust, or rail tracks underwater anymore. Why is this? Is this feature just bugged or has it been downright removed, because I loved placing that stuff down in my aquariums to give them a little more character. If the feature has been removed I will miss it but if it's just bugged PLEASE fix it.
