No local multiplayer available anywhere

There are 3 different platforms in my house that run mcpe (android htc sensation, android htc desire s, and ios ipad) and none of them can join a local (over our wi-fi) game. we turn on the local multiplayer in the game, but there seems to be no option for the others to join
