Can't place End Gateway portals with commands

I when I use /setblock to place an end gateway the item end_gateway cannot be found by the game. I have also tried using end_portal with a data value of 1 and that doesn't work either. I need these blocks for decoration on my adventure map as end portals only have textures on the top.
