Can't pick up items glitch after multiple attempts to pick up on Switch

Player cannot pick up items (with room in inventory) until after repeated attempts to pick up items.

The issue is reproduced the longer you stay in between the ocean and a coral reef while playing single player (non-realm) survival mode.
