Player spawning in midair into saved beta world

Twice now when entering a saved beta world I have spawned high in the air and fell to my death. If I then choose to respawn, I spawn into the place in the world I originally saved at, but I lose everything I had on me when I died. It seems like changing texture packs has something to do with it, because both times I had saved, changed texture packs and reloaded the saved game. This occurred on xbox one bedrock beta versions 1.8.0.13 and 1.8.0.10
