Multiplayer game crashes on 3rd player join

When starting a local multiplayer game, player one and two can join but when player three joins the game, it shows the generating world screen and then crashes.

This only occurs on the latest beta with experimental gameplay on. It doesnt seem to be related to the controllers connected.
