When putting game in multi-window view, it stops working.

When you put Minecraft into multi-window view or in recent apps, it will not continue loading and stop at the white, non-title screen. I am not sure if the white screen itself is an intended feature. I have tested it on a Samsung Galaxy J3 Pop, but not any other device.
