Glitchy/jumpy movement

Ever since the 1.6.1 ("phantoms") update moving around the world has been affected in a very strange way. Every so often as I'm moving around I'll suddendly and abruptly be turned to face the sky, or the floor, or the opposite direction. Nothing happens if I'm standing still, only if I'm moving. Makes for very frustrating gameplay and makes fighting mobs virtually impossible. Everything was working fine before said uupdate.
