Unable to make Jack-o-lanterns or put them on head

Since the original big water update, I have been unable to make jack-o-lanterns. When using the crafting table, it shows the option to make a jack-o-lantern but it won't make them even with all of the ingredients in inventory. With the jack-o-lanterns that I did have, I am unable to put them on my head. I used to be able to put jack-o-lanterns on my head to hide from Enderman but it won't allow me to put the jack-o-lanterns that I had before the big update on my head. It is for the Minecraft xbox live edition; the version that allows you to swim and treasure hunt.
