Can't change into custom skins

So I downloaded a skin from MCPEDL just a few minutes ago. I opened up the Minecraft app and went to the skin area and went to custom skin. It went to my storage, like it's supposed to and I clicked on the skin. It sent me back to Minecraft and every skin was black and my skin didn't pop up. I don't know why this is happening and now I'm stuck with the Steve skin. I've tried it in thr beta and the regular version. Please fix this. Can't show screenshots because the site is not letting me.
