MCPE android Free

My sister got MCPE on her tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab a6) and for some reason it was free. In the google play store before she got it it showed that she had already purchased it (this was before she downloaded it). Her friend also got it for free (same device- Samsung Galaxy Tab a6). Neither of them had to pay.
