Parrots avert players from traveling portals

What happened was: I had a parrot on my shoulder. I passed through both the nether and the end portal but the game took no action
Intended: I should be able to pass through the portals with my parrot on my shoulder
Note: no behavior packs were applied
Device: iPad 6
