Bedrock Missing Some Banner Pattern Crafting

Is it intended that bedrock should be missing the banner crafting pattern with vines?

I have tried multiple configurations and cannot get the recipe to work, and a google search/YouTube search on this topic yields little information, and some bedrock players do have this ability, which I cannot replicate...

Hopefully this is an actual bug, not the intended limitation of banners?
