Crash on Applying HD Texture Pack

Hello,

When trying to apply a HD Texture pack - in my case "Chroma Hills" from the MineCraft Store, but may be reproducible with others - MineCraft always freezes for about a minute before crashing.

 

Things Tried:

Uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

Deleting and re-downloading the HD Texture Pack.

Re-starting the Device
