A creeper exploded next to a zombie Spawner and the Spawner dropped like any other block.

A creeper exploded next to a zombie Spawner and the Spawner dropped like any other block, in a survival mode world. I can pick it up and even place it again but the Spawner no longer works.  I can also pick it up again with TNT.
