Red stone does not work on old world type

Any red stone item does not work on old world type if it is with in 32 blocks of the world border. It also happens on my iPhone 7 with the same amount of blocks, but if I am 32 blocks away from the border on my mini iPad or IPhone 7 red stone works fine.
