Game crashes when shooting creeper with trident from dispenser

I enchanted a trident with the channeling enchantment.  Load the trident into a dispenser.  Use a spawn egg to get a creeper secured into a holding box.  change the weather to thunder.  then push a button on the dispenser to shoot the creeper.  As soon as the trident hits the creeper, the game closes.  It can be repeated.  I have done it four times with the same result every time.
