Glitch when using Pattern Texture

I bought the Pattern texture pack with the pre-cross-platform version of Minecraft on the Switch, only a few days before it was all updated. When trying to use the pattern texture pack in the updated version, even when I redownload it through the new version and make a brand new save, I get the attached graphical glitch. The map will not load and the software will then crash without the option of submitting a bug report.

I have tried fully deleting the game and saves from the Switch and then redownloading. The texture pack will only register as previously purchased when I also download the old version of Minecraft to my Switch, and I wonder if this has anything to do with it.

Is there a way of fixing this? I would really like to not have to pay for something I only originally bought a couple of weeks ago.
