freeze leading to forced shut down after updates

After the last update to the game about a week ago, My computer lagged like hell in the start menu when I first opened it up. It lagged so much that I couldn't even open task manager or the start menu of windows. But somehow this fixed itself after about 3 days of freezing and crashing, and I was able to open a world again. But now the same thing happens again after this update and the game once again becomes unplayable...
