Placing sand over snow there is a bugged animation

When placing sand over a randomly generated mine that happen to be in a snow biome i would play sand to cover the opening and but there was snow on the blocks below and as i attempted the game would show a sand block then it would disappear momentary then end up where it should be placed

 

My specs are a i7 920 at 2.77ghz
