Horses get deleted when the game crashes.

The game crashes a lot. Probably more than 30 times in the last 6 days I've played it. I've recently learned that if you are on a horse when the game crashes, the horse will get deleted. I had bred a fast horse, and had diamond armor equipped on him. He's now been deleted by the game.
