Unable to join online multiplayer

Unable to attempt a connection to realms (button is borked), and unable to join a featured or added server on either iPad 4 or iPhone 5C (loading screen never finishes).

 Trouble shooting steps attempted;

• Rebooted several times, including after several of the steps
• Reinstalled Xbox app = made issue better, but not resolved
• Checked Xbox permissions = nothing needed changed
• Used a different device, iPhone 5C = issue pursued, other non-iOS devices are working.
• Removed one added "skyblock" server = no change
• Changed MC setting 'Use Cellular Data' to true = no change
• Reinstalled MC = no change
