Drowned mobs still in swimming position when they ride the boat if they're swimming

So I was in the boat fishing, I leave the boat for a while because I was visiting an ocean ruins, suddenly I was going to surface for air, a drowned is following me and the drowned ride the boat, weird thing is they are in swimming position not in sitting position

[P.S] The drowned looks different because of a texture glitch when leaving/returning to game
