Obfuscated text (§k) color code not working

Obfuscated text, or crazy text happens when you put color code (§k) onto a sign or in chat. It works when I put it in chat but doesn't work when I put it on sign. It shows it being crazy when editing sign, but final product doesn't show it being crazy.
