The doors looked like they open wrong and only faced a certain direction

Today I started playing Minecraft and found a new update I got the update and started to play. I was in a world trying to place doors. The doors only faced a certain direction and it got very annoying. The doors also looked like they opened the wrong direction. Please fix this.
