Unable to Play Over LAN Without X-Box Live

X-Box Live is now required to connect to friends over local LAN. While I understand the desire to push your other services, I don't want my children's personal information collected for marketing or other reasons, even if it is a "free" account. Please restore the ability to direct connect via local LAN, as I have no desire to sign my young children up for X-Box Live.
