Cannot place more sea pickles or turtle eggs in a block if targeting an adjacent block

This issue affects 1.16.20.

Bedrock version of MC-128856.

 

If placing a sea pickle against the edge of a block, it places correctly. Attempting to place any more within the block by aiming at the side of it will not place any more.
