Blocks placed instead of block UI on tap

During gameplay, tapping on a block which has a UI (crafting table, Chest) intermittantly a block is placed instead of the UI being shown.

Seems to happen in a chain... It will work as normal for a while, then start with this glitch. Seems to be resolved with an app restart (swipe away in multitasking and relaunch)
