Minecraft won’t load on iPad connected to wifi

I have an iPad 5th generation and my son uses an iPad Air. I had to get a new WiFi router, it is a Netgear. Now Minecraft will not load if the iPads are connected to WiFi. When I had a Belkin router We didn’t have a problem with this. So, this must be a router issue then? Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
