Arrow stuck to Nether Portal

I shot an arrow,accidentally hitting the Nether Portal.The arrow hit the Portal and it stayed on it,not going through or bouncing off.So I have to go near the Portal to retrieve it.Is this a Bug?(I don't know that I've got the version correctly)
