Player shifts while vertically stacking blocks

While playing Minecraft Realms in the Xbox one after the new update when i start to stack blocks by jumping straight up and placing a block immediately below me i will randomly shift off the stack and fall. I usually only get 3-5 blocks high before this happens, but it is very annoying and never happened before the update.
