Hotbar/inventory not showin for 1.2.14

I updated my version of minecraft last night to 1.2.14
And when I started to play the hot bar was gone
The part with the little squares I couldn't quit or do anything

I tried to exit the world and the quit button was not showing up this never happens to me for my previous updates so why why why fix this plz
