Sometimes piston will turn into stone

I try to build a vertical triple piston extender and sometimes the upper piston will turn into stone. I thought it's because of by pushing and pulling repeatedly of other sticky piston below it, I thought it's Normal to happen, but I try it to do I keep flicking lever place on sticky piston facing upwards and sticky piston on it will never turn into stone
