Ender Chest drops both 8 obsidian, and the chest.

So, I'm playing Bedrock Edition on the Xbox One X, and when I tried to mine up an ender chest with a Silk Touch Iron Pickaxe, it dropped both the chest, and 8 obsidian. Is this intended, or a result of a bug. Thanks.
