No furnace fuel

I recently started a Minecraft PE survival world and started playing normally. I needed some charcoal for torches so I built a furnace and put my wood in. However I was not able to select the fuel slot and I could not take my logs back from the furnace either! Please help! Fix this ASAP please! Thanks
